Booking:
The first step is to book a consultation, or contact me with your idea. For smaller tattoos, we can often book the appointment right away; for larger pieces, a consultation is ideal, but not 100% mandatory.
Once we’ve figured out the what, where, and how big, we figure out the when. I’ll send you a direct link to schedule your tattoo and complete the deposit. I work Tuesday through Saturday, 11-6. Keep in mind that Saturdays book up further in advance than weekdays, so if weekdays are an option, we can get started sooner.
Rates:
The rate for custom tattoos is $180 CAD/hour (+ hst), with a minimum of one hour for appointments. Walk-ins or phone-ins are priced by the piece. Currently I offer a promotional day rate of $800 for larger or multiple tattoos.
Deposits:
When we agree on a date and time, there is a non-refundable deposit, details will be provided when scheduling the appointment. Deposits are $100 for tattoos expected to take 4 hours or less, and $200 for larger and multi-session tattoos. The deposit will be deducted from the final cost (of the last session, if more than one appointment is required).
Deposits may occasionally be refunded under special circumstances. Situations where deposits will be forfeited include: not showing up; rescheduling or cancelling with less than 72 hours notice; significantly changing the tattoo design on the day of the appointment. Basically, if we respect each other’s time, everything is cool.
Estimates:
I’m always happy to give estimates on tattoo ideas. Please keep in mind that they are estimates. Everything from the details in the design, to the size of the tattoo, to how well you sit while getting tattooed, among other factors, can affect the final cost. The majority of the tattoos I do end up being at or lower than my estimates — I don’t like unexpected costs any more than you do. That said, I am human, and so are you, so there is always the possibility that a tattoo may cost a bit more than estimated.
Drawings:
Unless otherwise agreed ahead of time, I don’t send out drawings before appointments. Before the tattoo begins, we can make any minor changes necessary to the design. When describing the tattoo you’re looking for, please give the best description you can, and send any references you have of the style you’re looking for, or tattoos similar to what you want. If practical, set up a consultation — this is the most efficient way to ensure we’re on the same page about what you’re looking for.
Walk Ins:
I love doing walk ins, whenever time allows. I am happy to do small tattoos if I’m not fully booked already. Feel free to text, call, email or message any time to ask about availability.
Preparing for your tattoo:
Please, for your sake and mine, be well rested, sober, not hung over, well hydrated, clean, and eat a good healthy meal before you arrive. Pain medication (especially prescription) won’t help, but it will likely make you bleed more, making my job more difficult, and increasing the likelihood of a less-than-perfect heal. If you don’t partake in cannabis multiple times a day already, your tattoo session is not the time to start. Bring snacks and water — keeping your blood sugar from crashing and staying hydrated go a long way to keeping you feeling good during the session.
Bringing friends:
Feel free to bring a friend, partner or family member with you. I love meeting new people! Please don’t bring a big crew, more than a couple people can be very distracting, and we both want me to be focused on giving you the best tattoo possible. Unless cleared with me first, please don’t bring children to the shop. Neither of us will be able to watch them if we’re paying proper attention to your tattoo, and there are a lot of pointy and sterile things in a tattoo shop.
Final note:
The most important thing to know is that I *love* tattooing. I haven’t had a bad day at work since I started in 2016, and I would be more than happy to talk about your next tattoo.
