| The Basilica Cistern, Yerebatan Sarnıcı in Turkish, was one of the highlights of our stay in Istanbul (at least for me). I hope some day we might institutionalize our own water infrastructure with this sort of respect. Although I suppose when it comes down to it, I'd rather visit underground spaces without an admission fee or a guard rail. |
